Locals Favorite Cocktails Print E-mail

The Outer Banks is a great location to enjoy your favorite beverage whether it be beer, wine or a smooth cocktail.  Your on vacation have a drink.   Once you stop at one of the Outer Banks ABC stores.  Below are some great recipes to try on your Outer Banks vacation. 

Hurricane recipe
1 oz vodka, 1/4 oz grenadine syrup, 1 oz gin, 1 oz light rum, 1/2 oz Bacardi® 151 rum, 1 oz amaretto almond liqueur, 1 oz triple sec, grapefruit juice, and pineapple juice
Pour all but the juices, in order listed, into a hurricane glass three-quarters filled with ice. Fill with equal parts of grapefruit and pineapple juice, and serve.

Lynchburg Lemonade recipe
1 part Jack Daniel's® Tennessee whiskey, 1 part triple sec, 1 part sweet and sour mix, 4 parts Sprite® soda
Mix ingredients into a punch bowl.

A Midsummernight's Dream recipe
5 fresh strawberries, 1 tsp strawberry liqueur, 1 oz Kirschwasser® cherry brandy, 2 oz vodka, Schweppes® Russian tonic water
Mix the strawberries in a blender and pour over ice in a shaker. Add the vodka, kirsch and strawberry liqueur to the shaker. Shake well, pour into a highball glass, and fill up with the Russian water.

Call a Cab recipe
1/4 oz Midori® melon liqueur, 1/4 oz peach schnapps, 1/4 oz coconut rum, 1/4 oz creme de bananas, 1/4 oz Stoli® Ohranj vodka, 1/4 oz Southern Comfort® peach liqueur, 2 1/2 oz cranberry juice, 2 1/2 oz pineapple juice, 2 1/2 oz Sprite® soda
Mix all ingredients together in a hurricane glass with ice, or combine in a blender. Add juices and sprite to fill glass, and serve.

A Short Southern Screw recipe
1/2 oz Southern Comfort® peach liqueur, 1/2 oz Stolichnaya® vodka, 1 splash Grey Goose® L'Orange vodka
Fill a shot glass half full of Southern Comfort, then fill the rest of the way with the Stoli (preferrably stored in freezer) leaving a small amount of room at the top. Then splash a bit of the Grey Goose to top it off. Sit and enjoy!

Southern Belle recipe
1/2 oz brandy, 1/2 oz white creme de cacao, 1/2 oz benedictine herbal liqueur
Pour the brandy into a pousse cafe glass. Tilt the glass to a 45-degree angle and slowly pour the creme de cacao down the side of the glass so that it floats on the brandy. Repeat this precedure with the Benedictine.

Angel's Wing
1/2 oz white creme de cacao, 1/2 oz brandy, 1 tbsp light cream
Pour ingredients carefully, in order given, into a pousse cafe glass so that they do not mix. Serve without mixing.
