More mustangs might be coming to the Outer Banks. It seems the residents of Currituck County will get to vote on increasing the size of the Corolla wild horse herd. Right now the size of the herd is set at 60. There is talk to get it as high as 110. There has been no input from US Fish and Wildlife as to increasing herd size. The meeting is set for October 15th in Currituck. Interested in more information? Check out the Daily Advance.

Recently the crew of HGTV’s “My House is Worth What?” have been found filming in the Outer Banks. Reports says homes in the towns of Avon, Buxton, Manteo, Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills were all filmed. It will be interesting to see the value of the homes on the island. I am sure many local homeowners will take notice.

Of all the 100’s of incoming emails a day, this one really caught my eye. Vacations for Veterans brings together vacation homeowners who are interested in donating to a great cause and very deserving veterans of the U.S. armed forces. The non-profit organization was founded by Christopher and Peggy Carr. Peggy runs an luxury home exchange called ExclusiveExchanges. Through the course of her business, she and her husband, Christopher, came up with this idea of pairing much deserving veterans with a week of vacation. The idea was even featured in the Anchorage Daily News. This amazing idea is just taking hold in North Carolina currently where there are currently 3 listings. For more information or to make a donation visit their website.
