Bike Week was awesome. Good to see some friends. The girls on Friday at Hooters were ridiculous. The Harley Davidson in Currituck was a sight to see all weekend. Keep riding.

My wife and I moved our family down to the Outer Banks a couple of years ago after investing in some Outer Banks real estate but have been unable to attend this festival the last two years. This year we are taking the kids and we’re all looking forward to it. Kitty Hawk is a great place.

All of the attention paid to the summer months overshadows the great opportunities the rest of the year hold. Every season on the Outer Banks is wonderful in it’s own way, but Fall is arguably the best time to visit…great weather, warm water, fewer people, and great prices. Gorgeous homes are still availalbe. The summer may be over, but your vacation doesn’t have to be.

It was a near miss, but thankfully Hanna slipped past the Outer Banks. With the exception of Friday night and Saturday morning, the weather has been great, and the warm water and Hanna generated waves have been a joy.

Adam I also home that the idea will be brought ot life. From what I’ve heard the off season is looking a little slower than last year’s. Long term something like a convention center would provide numerous reasons for shoulder vacations.

It seems like this rumor has been floating around for a while. A convention center sounds like a great way attract off-season visitors to the islands. Our “shoulder seasons” are gorgeous, and the local businesses sure could use a boost during the slower periods.
