If you are looking to experience true oceanfront dining in the Outer Banks, be sure to check out The Pearl in Kill Devil Hills. The Pearl is the oceanfront restaurant located in the bottom of the Sea Ranch Hotel. The cuisine at The Pearl ranges from a casual lunch menu to fine dining at dinner. The Pearl offers both indoor and deck seating. If you are looking to truly experience oceanfront dining, enjoy dinner or lunch on the deck. It is especially impressive when it is lit at night. The menu changes with daily specials but is traditional French. You will find French mainstays like foie gras but the menu is definitely highlighted by the fresh locally caught fish. The Pearl also offers an extensive wine list and excellent desserts. You can experience lunch or dinner everyday and brunch on Sunday. Kelly Bell Band at The Pit Memorial WeekendJune 5th, 2009
The Kelly Bell Band enjoyed another run at The Pit during Memorial Weekend 2009. It has become a tradition for the band to play every Memorial Weekend at The Pit. Although the crowd was kind of small they were very into the band. This was my first experience with the band and I enjoyed every minute. My friend who invited me informed me that they the band can get a little raucous with the crowd. Well during the night we had two sets of women on the stage dancing to the delight of most of the men in the audience including the band. I enjoyed the band’s tribute to Chuck Brown when they performed a little “go go” music. The band’s original songs were also very good. I didn’t really know the names of them but was impressed with the band’s musicianship especially the guitarist Ira Mayfield, Jr. and keyboard player Kirk Myers. Finally, the glue to the band was the lead singer Kelly Bell who interacted very well with the crowd and fed off their energy. All in all a great performance. Check out a few videos that I shot of the band. Kelly Bell Band Intro
