“Green” Beer and it’s not St. Patty’s Day

Well the time has finally come. America will have its first wind powered brew pub. As part of a growing group of earth conscious business owners, the Outer Banks Brewing Station worked hard to reach April 22nd. On April 22nd, the Outer Banks Brewing Station will turn on its 10KW wind turbine. As a lover of the Brewing Station’s beer, I hope the famed Outer Banks wind doesn’t decide to slow. The same force that made the Wright’s famous will now work to power enviromentally-friendly beer.

To celebrate the launch of the wind turbine, the OBBS will host a party on April 22nd for Earth Day 2008. The party is to celebrate their launch as the first wind powered brew pub. What can be better than fossil fuel free beer. There will be live music from noon to six. $1 OBBS Beers and Southern Pig Pickin. The event is free and is being held rain or shine. For all lovers of everything green and beer, this is not to be missed. For more information, visit their website

“Green” Beer on the Outer Banks NC…

Bet Eco-friendly and beer are not often heard in the same sentence. On North Carolina’s Coast will be the first wind-powered pub in the nation. On this upcoming Earth Day, celebrate your two favorite things. Beer and Nature!…
