The Outer Banks Marathon - OBX Marathon
Perhaps the fastest growing yearly event on the Outer Banks is the Outer Banks Marathon. 2009 is the fourth year of the marathon. The crowds have grown exponentially since the inaugural year. The most flat course and beautiful November temperatures are helping to make the Outer Banks a growing race destination. The Outer Banks Marathon is open to walkers and runners and offers a full and half marathon with an additional kids fun run.
If you are looking for an excuse to head to the Outer Banks be sure to include OBX Marathon weekend. It makes no difference if you are walking, running or just here to cheer, the marathon is fun for all. The Pirate theme definitely helps everyone enjoy. Come on out for the 2009 Outer Banks Marathon. For 2009 the Outer Banks Marathon will be a Boston Qualifier.

Runners
will need to maintain a pace of 17:10 per mile in order to "beat the
bridge" at mile 22. The bridge will be closed to runners at 1:50 PM. |
