BBQ Cook-Off and Beer Fest

     The 2nd Annual Pigstein is being held Saturday, October 25th at High Cotton in Kitty Hawk..  The festival will run from 12-8.  This Outer Banks festival pairs two amazing things, North Carolina barbeque and beer.  The festival pairs many local pitmasters against each other.  All the pitmasters are non-professionals.  Cooking barbeque is a love for these folks, not a job.  You can taste it in the cooking.  Besides plenty of delicious barbeque pork, the event will highlight over 100 beers from around the world.   

     North Carolina is famous for it's signature brand of barbeque.  The North Carolina style is unlike any other.   

     Last year's event was wet.  The soaking rain did not damper any enthusiasm.  While at last year's event, I tasted the winning hog and some great brews from the Outer Banks Brewing Station.  The rain definitely did not change the taste of the barbeque or the beer.  I definitely am looking forward to this year's event.  According to the folks at Chips Beer & Wine Market and High Cotton, this year's event should be better than last year's.
