The beautiful Whalehead Club and Heritage Park are home to some great events throughout the year.  It is definitely not to be missed for those staying in Corolla.

Sunday, May 10 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm - Fun Fly Festival

Watch and learn how to fly all kinds of kites. Children enjoy making paper kites to keep or bring your own to play with.  Treat Mom and the whole family to a fun day in the park harnessing the power of Mother Nature and capturing the imagination!  Look for us near the Sound.  Admission & Parking are free.

Wednesday, June 24  Thursday, June 25 - 8th Annual "Under the Oaks" Arts Festival

Enjoy this annual outdoor art show on the grounds of Currituck Heritage Park with over 100 quality artists showcasing a wide variety of media, musical entertainment, food concessions, art auction, and children's activities.  Admission is free - $5 parking donation requested.

Tuesday mornings in July and August at 9:00 am - Children's Knight Magic Camps

Explore the history of magic and learn a few tricks to show off to your friends!  $15 per child aged 5 and up opens you to the mystery of illusion by world traveled magician, Clive Allen.  Tantalize your imagination and become your own performer with tricks to take home.  Meet at the Picnic Shelter in Currituck Heritage Park.

Wednesday afternoons in July, August & September from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm - Whalehead Club Wednesday Wine Festivals

Come and celebrate the interesting world of wines! All wine connoisseurs and novices are welcome!  Enjoy a Wednesday afternoon of wine tasting under the tents on the North Lawn of the Whalehead Club at Currituck Heritage Park.  With your $20 admission adults can sample wines from North Carolina and around the world; keep your souvenir glass; take a complimentary tour of the Whalehead Club; listen to popular local musical artists perform on the stage; sample food from local vendors.  Children are also welcome at no charge.  Bring your pets on a leash.  Parking is free.

Saturday, July 4 - The 17th Annual Independence Day Festival of Fireworks

Food, Fun, and Entertainment for the entire family at Currituck Heritage Park.  Fireworks will begin at dusk overlooking the Currituck Sound.  Bring blankets or beach chairs and enjoy the best fireworks display on the Outer Banks.  Admission is free.  Sponsored by the Currituck County Department of Travel & Tourism.

Thursday evenings in July & August from 6:30 pm to Sunset - Summer Concert Series on the South Lawn

Relax on the South Lawn of the Whalehead Club at Currituck Heritage Park and enjoy the talents of local musicians.  On the historic Whalehead Club front porch, a variety of music from past to present will be performed for the pleasure of the entire family.  Bring a beach chair or blanket and watch the sun set over the Currituck Sound while supporting the classical arts!  Snack concessions will be available.  Pets on leash welcome.  Admission & Parking are free.

Tuesday July 7, Wednesday July 8 and Thursday July 9 - Wild Horse Days

Come celebrate with the Corolla Wild Horse Fund the presence and significance of the wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs living on the Currituck Outer Banks for nearly 500 years.  This year's theme is "Horses Helping Horses" and features dressage, jumping, and wild horse training demonstrations.  There will be food, music, games and crafts, Dunk a Deputy dunking booth, cart rides pulled by a formerly wild mustang and so much more! Friday, October 30 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm (rain date October 31) - 6th Annual Haunted Corolla Village

Come and join us for a ghoulishly good time!  Jump on board the Haunted Hayride through Historic Corolla Village and listen to ghostly stories of yesteryear!  Then, if you dare, walk the spooky park grounds and be prepared to be scared...

Friday, November 27 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm - Black Friday Porch Sale

Saturday, December 12 at 5:00 pm - The 3rd Annual Holiday Illumination Celebration

See the giant cedar tree in Currituck Heritage Park and the Currituck Beach Lighthouse simultaneously illuminated.  Gather on the North Lawn of the Whalehead Club to enjoy free hot chocolate and sing carols.  Befor and after the lighting ceremony, the Whalehead Club will open for holiday tours to show off the decorations inspired by the 1920s etchings of Edward Collings Knight, Jr.
